Barbadian singer/ songwriter KITORAH is an energetic and captivating
performer who remains grounded in the unswerving influence of her grandmother
and her Christian faith.
From winning the coveted and keenly contested Barbadian Richard Stoute Teen
Talent Award, KITORAH has become a specialist. Nonetheless, she also envisages a
future career in acting, with a promise to assist in the development of younger
artists. Her release, "From This Day On", was written and produced by Barbadian
Tony Hoyos.
To her credit, KITORAH has toured Canada, performing at the Toronto Convention
Centre for the Barbados Ball and débuted her new single, "From This Day On", at
the prestigious 2007 Barbados Music Awards. The accompanying video was shot on
location in her home, Barbados and released on TEMPO in August 2008.
With an unquestionable passion for her chosen career, her preferred genres are
Pop, Alternative and Contemporary music. KITORAH was in Toronto, Canada, April
2008 completing her first solo album, "Love Like Mine" , in collaboration with
Canadian Pop/R & B/Adult Contemporary producers Eddie Bullen (Liberty Silver,
Rupert Gayle) and Derek Brin (Usher, Whitney Houston, etc.).
Her title track, released in the Caribbean, was co-written with Kristina Unjhem,
a Norwegian singer / songwriter, and produced by Deekay Music / Pop City, "Hit",
producers for the British boy group, BLUE. This track delivers to the industry
the increasingly popular Caribbean Dancehall /Soca rhythmic style associated
with some of the region's stalwarts.
KITORAH co-wrote and produced four songs on the album with the celebrated Jimmy
"Senya" Haynes, who has produced for Sade, Steel Pulse and Desirée, and won a
Grammy Award for his work on the Steel Pulse album.
She was also lead vocalist for a local band in a stellar performance at the 2008
Barbados Jazz Festival. KITORAH's next major performance took her to China for
the historic 2008 Beijing Olympics. There she had the honour of delivering the
theme song for the Concert Series, "Marriage Of Excellence", introduced by
International Performing Arts for All (IPAFA). She's recently re-wrote the
anthem while in Canada recording with producer Eddie Bullen. She performed in
three major cities to re-establish The Arts Games, serving as a bridge between
the Paralympics and the Olympics.
In December, KITORAH hosts two television shows on CMC on her tour of China,
released to 28 Caribbean States. The first is a one-hour documentary with part
proceeds of digital downloads going to assist Paralympians in the Caribbean. The
second is the Samsung "Marriage of Excellence" Concert Series, which was
directed and produced by American Awards producer, Rick Garson. In addition, the
2008 Diva show in Beijing 2008 is scheduled for release on NBC to 80 countries.
She is also a Director/Owner of Spar 1 Music Management Inc., along with
Owner/Managing Director Michael Thompson. Investor/Director Ralph Weekes is from
Toronto, Canada. Click here to listen to From This Day On.
