The long awaited and highly anticipated album from Philip 7 will finally be hitting the stores this December. The album is a collection of Philip 7's most requested original songs which represents the diversity and depth of this phenomenally talented Barbadian entertainer. In 2006, he became a household name with the release of the single Beautiful Surprise and has steadily worked to make a name for himself and his band with the assistance of a team of local, regional and international music executives.

Never one to conform to the norm, Philip 7 combines various genres on this debut album in an unprecedented way. The album is neither alternative, soul, pop or reggae, it is what Philip 7 calls "the Masala experience." Named after his band whose musicians are capable of ably performing any genre of music, the word Masala signifies Philip's ability to blend many things to create something unique.

Amongst the credits one will find an extensive list of acclaimed producers and songwriters who have worked assiduously to complete the project including local producer Gary Serrao of Gee Wizz Studios who first introduced Philip 7 to local music label, Pyramid Music Group. Leading Jamaican producers Stephen Mc Gregor, Clive Hunt and Richard "Shams" Browne have brought their combined expertise to bear on the reggae selections and international production and songwriting team comprising Derek Brin, Andrew Dawson and Rupert Gayle all of whom have the worked with several multi-platinum artistes including the recently Grammy nominated Kanye West are also part of this high powered production combo.

So whether it's the recently released reggae single "Who You Are" or the ever popular Beautiful Surprise this album is a must have for the Christmas season.
