Pyramid recently held its first entertainment industry party at the Aqua Restaurant, Hastings, Christ Church where the who's who of the Barbadian entertainment fraternity came out in their numbers to support the company's achievements and celebrate the launch of Philip 7's first album. With the panoramic view of the island's southern coast line as its backdrop, the Aqua restaurant was transformed into a lively party atmosphere. Proud sponsors Moet Hennessy gave the event an added touch of class with their premium bar and an array of drinks specials throughout the night.

Amongst the attendees were musical stalwarts Arturo Tappin, Nicholas Brancker and Andrew Denny who rubbed shoulders with some of the islands' emerging talents such as Buggy, Ayanna John, Dwayne Husbands, (2008 winner of the Digicel Rising Stars) and Ria Borman who recently dazzled the audience at the Barbados Music Awards (BMA).

The company captured the achievements of its impressive roster of acts through a series of audio visual presentations accompanied by a narrative account of the company's journey to become Barbados' leading entertainment company. Quite apart from the number of regional and international titles which the company's artistes have secured over the past three years, Pyramid's CEO also took the time to unveil some of the company's upcoming plans.

The party was also used to showcase the latest additions to the growing catalogue of music videos produced by the Pyramid Music Group. Guyanese sensation Timeka Marshall's latest single "All Night" received thunderous applause as did Peter Ram's video for the single "Tight". The company also premiered the two recent videos from Philip 7 – alternative track "Space and Time" and reggae single "Looking For".

The evening climaxed with a twenty five minute performance by Philip 7 and the band Masala which showcased some of the songs on the upcoming album "Masala". True to its title, the performance represented the diversity of genres which the lead artiste has demonstrated he is capable of commanding. The album boasts an impressive line up of Canadian producers and songwriters the likes of Derek Brin and Rupert Gayle who worked tirelessly with Barbadian producer Gary Serrao of Gee Wizz Studios to blend Philip's vocal range with their musical and songwriting abilities. The album also boasts a selection of reggae tracks from some of Jamaica's most sought after producers namely Richard 'Shams' Browne, Donovan Germain and Stephen McGregor.

At the end of the performance, Philip 7 invited several of the other Pyramid artistes to share the stage with him demonstrating the solidarity in the Pyramid camp and giving the audience a taste of the amazing musical ambassadors which the region continues to produce.

Based on the positive feedback from the media and industry executives the Pyramid party looks set to become a signature event on the music industry calendar. It may well become a platform for the company to review its yearly achievements as well as stage the launch of several of the region's emerging talents.
