Barbados' local singing sensation Philip 7 was among the winners at the recently held 5th Annual Barbados Music Awards, taking home the award for Best Rock/Alternative Pop Artist (male).
This is the second time that this Pyramid artist has received this award; in 2008, he was lauded for his smash hit single 'Beautiful Surprise'. After that achievement, Philip 7 put his faith and talent in the hands of the track's masterminds, Barbadian producer Gary Serrao and Canadian based international producer Derek Brin.
The three crafted the alternative tracks 'Nothing Left To Say', Unconditional' and 'Blame It On Love'. Then Philip 7 went on to work with Anthony Hoyos, this year's BMA Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, and Chris Allman of Slam City Studios on the track 'Space and Time'.
As a multi-genred artist, these tracks made up the alternative aspect of Philip 7's first studio album Masala which was released at the end of 2008 and contributed to him receiving this honour.
